The mission of Holy Spirit School is to serve God by providing a challenging academic education within the Catholic Tradition.
All middle school students will start with a review of map skills and geography from their previous year followed by introduction to geography areas that are applicable to their current year studies. The students will have geography incorporated into units throughout the year. Each level will also be exposed to a daily current events customized just for the middle school level.
6th Grade – The 6th grade will study chronological world history and geography that begins with the Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages up to Roman and Greek rule. Our 6th graders will use the textbooks Saavas My World: World History and Saavas My World: World Geography to assist them in their studies throughout the year.
7th Grade – The 7th grade will also use the textbooks Saavas My World: World History and Saavas My World: World Geography along with other supplementary materials as they continue studies of world history and geography from Roman and Greek rule through the early Middle Ages.
8th Grade – The 8th graders will study chronological US history that begins with the European Age of Exploration and conclude with present day America. Among other resources, 8th graders will use the textbook Saavas My World: American History.
