The mission of Holy Spirit School is to serve God by providing a challenging academic education within the Catholic Tradition.
Hello Holy Spirit families! My name is Jill Geurts, and I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to be your School Counselor since 2014. I absolutely love serving this school community as the School Counselor because it gives me the chance to work with every student in the school, as well as all the teachers and families in some capacity. Being in a faith-based environment is an added bonus for me, and I often say it makes my job even easier. What better way to impart hope to struggling students and families than to be able to draw on the hope we have in Jesus?!?
I grew up in the Appleton area and graduated from Appleton West High School before moving to Milwaukee for the next 10 years. While there I attended UW-Milwaukee, first for an undergraduate degree in Social Work (2002) and then my master’s degree in School Counseling (2009). In Milwaukee, I worked in a shelter for runaway and homeless youth, and when my husband and I moved back to the Fox Valley in 2008 I worked as the Director of Christian Education for a local church. I also interned throughout the Fox Valley area as a School Counselor as I completed my master’s degree, and after graduation I was a long-term School Counselor Substitute in two different schools.
My husband Michael and I have been married since 2003, and we have three children (Gavin, Eliza, and Chloe). All three attend school here at Holy Spirit. Our family has been a licensed foster home since 2020. My husband works in sales for a local home remodeling company. As a family we enjoy many hobbies such as traveling, boating, camping, biking, and seeing movies. Personally, I also enjoy sewing, reading, baking, crafting, walking, and photography.
