The mission of Holy Spirit School is to serve God by providing a challenging academic education within the Catholic Tradition.
Our middle school has a trimester schedule. All middle school students at Holy Spirit School participate daily in the following core classes: math, language, literature, science, and social studies. All middle school students also particpate weekly in the following special classes: religion, physical education, health, art, technology, guidance, and Spanish. Students also have the opportunity throughout middle school for various elective choices such as band, chorus, world dance, and various exploratory courses. Middle school students also participate in weekly liturgy and have opportunities to lead masses as well.
Homework is an important extension of the teaching/learning that takes place in school. It can contribute to practice and drill that reinforces learning. It can provide opportunities for study, research and creativity. Parents can assist their children by providing a quiet place for the students to work for a specific time and by checking assignments that are completed. Middle School students can expect 60-90 minutes of daily homework. Research shows that students who do homework, experience more success in school.
